The Westermo DDW-220 Industrial Managed Ethernet Extender is a managed industrial communication device designed to extend Ethernet connectivity over existing copper cables. It uses SHDSL technology to transmit Ethernet data across point-to-point links, helping connect remote equipment where installing new fiber or Ethernet cabling is impractical. The DDW-220 combines an SHDSL interface with a four-port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet switch. It supports transmission rates of up to 5.7 Mbps and link distances of up to 10 km under suitable line conditions. Its managed functionality enables network monitoring and configuration, while industrial mounting and redundant power options support integration into control cabinets.
