The SCALANCE W788-2 M12 is a rugged Industrial WLAN (IWLAN) access point designed for secure and reliable wireless networking in demanding industrial environments. Equipped with 2 x radios, three N-Connect antenna ports, and support for IEEE 802.11a/b/g/h/n standards, it operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands with a gross data rate of up to 450 Mbps per radio. Advanced features can be activated via a KEY-PLUG, while WPA2/802.11i/e security ensures protected wireless communications. The device features a Gigabit M12 Ethernet port supporting data rates up to 1 Gbps, PoE capability, redundant 24 V DC power inputs, and a plug slot for feature expansion. Its IP65-rated enclosure, M12 A-coded connectors, and operating temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C make it suitable for harsh industrial and outdoor applications. The SCALANCE W788-2 M12 includes the MPCIE-R1-ABGN-U3 wireless module and is supplied with M12 sealing caps and German/English manuals on CD-ROM. Intended for operation outside the USA and Israel, the device must be used in accordance with applicable national approval requirements.
