The SCALANCE W788-1 RJ45 is a high-performance Industrial WLAN (IWLAN) access point designed to deliver secure and reliable wireless networking in demanding industrial environments. Equipped with a single radio, three R-SMA antenna ports, and support for IEEE 802.11a/b/g/h/n standards, it operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands with a gross data rate of up to 450 Mbps per radio. Advanced features can be activated via a KEY-PLUG, while WPA2/802.11i/e security ensures protected wireless communications. The device features a Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet port supporting data rates up to 1 Gbps, PoE capability, redundant 24 V DC power input, and optional 110–230 V AC operation via the PS791-2AC power supply. Its rugged IP65-rated enclosure and operating temperature range of -40 °C to +60 °C make it suitable for harsh industrial and outdoor applications. The SCALANCE W788-1 includes a plug slot for feature expansion and comes with the MPCIE-R1-ABGN-U3 wireless module. The scope of delivery includes a joint block and German/English manuals on CD-ROM. Intended for operation outside the USA and Israel, the device must be used in accordance with applicable national approval requirements.
