The SCALANCE W1788-2IA M12 is a rugged Industrial WLAN (IWLAN) access point engineered for high-performance wireless networking in demanding industrial and outdoor environments. Featuring two radios and eight integrated internal antennas, it supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/h/n/ac standards on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, delivering gross data rates of up to 1733 Mbit/s per radio. Advanced features are supported via a CLP (Configuration Plug), while WPA2/802.11i/e security ensures reliable protection for wireless communications. The device is equipped with two Gigabit M12 Ethernet ports supporting data rates up to 1 Gbit/s, integrated PoE functionality, and redundant 24 V DC power inputs for enhanced network availability. Its robust IP65-rated enclosure, M12 A-coded connectors, and operating temperature range of -20 °C to +70 °C make it suitable for harsh industrial applications. The SCALANCE W1788-2IA M12 also includes a CLP slot for simplified configuration management and device replacement and comes with the MPCIE-R1-ABGNAC-U4 wireless module. The scope of delivery includes one joint block. Intended for operation outside the USA and Israel, the device must be used in accordance with applicable national approval requirements.
