The SCALANCE W738-1 M12 is a robust Industrial WLAN (IWLAN) access point designed for reliable wireless networking in demanding industrial environments. Equipped with a single radio, two N-Connect antenna ports, and support for IEEE 802.11a/b/g/h/n standards, it operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands with a gross data rate of up to 300 Mbit/s. Advanced features can be enabled via a KEY-PLUG, while WPA2/802.11i/e security ensures secure wireless communication. The device features two M12 Ethernet ports supporting data rates of up to 100 Mbit/s, an integrated PoE-capable 2-port switch, and redundant 24 V DC power inputs for enhanced network availability. With its IP65-rated enclosure, M12 A-coded connectors, and operating temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C, the SCALANCE W738-1 M12 is well suited for harsh industrial and outdoor applications. The access point includes a plug slot for feature expansion and is supplied with M12 sealing caps and German/English manuals on CD-ROM. Intended for operation outside the USA and Israel, it must be used in accordance with applicable national approval requirements.
