Overview of Proxim Tsunami QB-10100L-LNK-866-UPG Radio
The Proxim Tsunami QB-10100L-LNK-866-UPG Point-to-Point Radio is a software license upgrade for the Tsunami QuickBridge 10100L wireless backhaul platform. It enables an upgrade from the standard 400 Mbps product configuration to a licensed data rate of up to 866 Mbps, supporting higher-capacity wireless links between network locations. The QB-10100L platform operates in supported 4.9–5.925 GHz frequency bands, depending on regional regulations, and uses 2×2 MIMO technology with Proxim’s WORP wireless protocol. The upgrade is intended for compatible hardware rather than a standalone radio device.
The primary benefit is increased licensed capacity on supported QB-10100L equipment. The underlying platform provides two Gigabit Ethernet ports, with PoE input on one port and software-controlled PoE output on the other. These interfaces support integration with compatible Ethernet devices and simplify power delivery in suitable installations. The radio platform also supports AES-128 encryption, VLAN handling, QoS controls, remote management, and dynamic radio features, depending on configuration. These capabilities can help engineers manage Industrial Ethernet traffic and maintain structured network access. The license upgrade does not independently guarantee 866 Mbps of application throughput; actual performance depends on channel width, signal conditions, configuration, interference, and local spectrum rules.
