Overview of Proxim Tsunami GX-810-18LK Radio
The Proxim Tsunami GX-810-18LK Point-to-Point Radio is a licensed microwave wireless system designed to provide dedicated connectivity between two network locations. Operating in the 18 GHz frequency band, it supports point-to-point backhaul for organizations that need to extend network infrastructure across sites without installing physical cabling. The GX-810 platform supports configurable channel bandwidths and adaptive modulation to balance throughput and link performance under changing radio conditions. Its role in Industrial Networking is to provide a wireless transport path for Ethernet traffic between remote facilities, control centers, and compatible network equipment.
The Proxim Tsunami GX-810-18LK Point-to-Point Radio can be used for wireless backhaul between industrial facilities, utility locations, remote monitoring stations, and telecommunications sites. It is relevant where trenching fiber or installing copper cabling is impractical, costly, or restricted by site conditions. In Industrial Automation, a properly engineered link can carry Ethernet traffic between remote controllers, monitoring systems, and compatible SCADA infrastructure. It may also connect distributed IIoT gateways and operational networks. Deployment planning should account for licensed-frequency authorization, antenna alignment, line of sight, link distance, interference, and required throughput. Actual suitability depends on the configured radio, regulatory requirements, and the network design.
