RUGGEDCOM Multi-Service Platforms are high-port density switches designed for use in high performance industrial networks, capable of supporting Layer 2 switching as well as Layer 3 routing. These modular, highly versatile devices combine switching, routing, cybersecurity, edge computing and management capabilities on the same platform, serial, 4G cellular, T1/E1 communications. Designed to meet and exceed IEC 61850-3 protocol requirements, the RUGGEDCOM Layer 3 Multi-Service Platform family of switches and routers offers integrated router, firewall and VPN functionalities. The RUGGEDCOM Multi-Service Platforms family's design uses hot-swappable line modules and power supplies, allowing customers to select amongst WAN, serial, and Ethernet options even after it is installed in the network. This, coupled with a wide operating temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C and a high level of immunity to EMI, surge voltages, and shocks, makes it ideal for electric power utilities, industrial networks, railways, and traffic control systems.
